In Dread Response

Growning up in a Military, Latter Day Saint family in Waiouru there wasn't a whole lot to get up to except listen to music. Our Dad raised us on a balanced diet of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin so I never strayed far from heavy music. I'd been in bands previously (Metallica cover bands in high school) but when it came to starting my own band (In Dread Response) I drew from my influences of Iron Maiden, Megadeth and the likes of Darkest Hour.

At the time I'd also really been getting into a japanese band called Envy which is where I took my more melodic influence from. When all the music was written it came time to find a vocalist. I'd previously worked with Irish madman Sean O'Kane-Connolly in the band Cold By Winter and quickly jumped at the chance to put his lyrical genius to good use. We were set. We quickly recorded a 6 track EP and printed & pressed them ourselves which went down well. After a very short tour of NZ and Australia we headed back into the studio to record our full length album From the Oceanic Graves.

By this stage we'd attracted the attention of Angelo Munroe of DeadBoy Records who signed us almost immediately. We went back to Australia to promote the album for a 3 week tour with our good friends The Storm Picturesque which included broken guitars, numerous fractures, strained necks and countless angry bar staff from band members bar walking mid set. As happy I was with the album I think our real strength lies in our live performances. My favourite show was the day before big day out, the venue was packed and when I climbed up on top of my amp the entire room was a rogue wave of kids moshing and thrashing along to our music. It was a pretty amazing sight and I thought to myself "wow, we cause this!"

A bit about In Dread Response

In Dread Response are a five piece metal band hailing from Auckland City, New Zealand.

Having spent the better part of two years preparing their exceptional live act it becomes very evident it's been far too long since you have seen this amount of energy and power on stage.

With their music based on melody and intensity, In Dread Response succeeds in evoking emotions usually reserved for tragic epic movie moments and near death experiences.
Combining all these elements makes for a very addictive listening experience and an even more hair raising live experience.

It's clear they have set out to make a mark on the Australasian metal scene and have succeeded. Having completed numerous nationwide tours with NZ metal heavyweights 8 Foot Sativa as well as headlining dates across the ditch in Australia.
